Established in late 2007, the Durbanville branch was a welcome addition to the nerds in Cape Town, providing computer repairs and IT support to the surrounding areas of Tyger Valley, Bellview and Milnerton. Dial a Nerd Durbanville was originally opened in the Glengarry Shopping Centre, but moved to bigger offices in Old Oak Road Durbanville at the end of 2010, opposite the road from the Willowbridge Shopping Centre.

What makes your branch unique? “Our team is very friendly and helpful.”

What is the best part of your job? “Making sure clients are happy.”

What types of computer problems are most common in your branch? “Internet and E-mail not working.”

What is the coolest gadget you’ve seen? “The Parrot Drone.”

Do you prefer a PC or a Mac? “Mac hands down, they just work.”

How do you handle computers with illegal software on them? “We quote the client and we legalise them, also explain the fines that go with illegal software.”

How many computers do you have at home? “One, unless you count my PS3.”

Frank has been the branch manager of Durbanville since 2010.
