Dial a Nerd Business grew out of Dial a Nerd, a home support company started by Colin Thornton in 1998. Formerly known as Network Nerds, Dial a Nerd Business was started in 2003 by two senior nerds, taking friendly Dial a Nerd support service and augmenting it with quicker response times, service level agreements and more experienced technicians to suit the corporate environment.

Since its inception it has grown to be a fundamental part of the organisation with offices in Hurlingham and Sunninghill in Johannesburg, and Woodstock in Cape Town. Dial a Nerd has grown from the garage to a sophisticated operation with over one hundred employees, and with the goal of superior service at the forefront of our business, the company continues to go from strength to strength.

The Dial a Nerd Business approach is to take a close look at a clients IT system, usually with information that has been gathered by doing a comprehensive IT audit, and formulating a proposal which outlines key areas that need to be addressed and the means for doing so. The core focus of the proposal is around usability, efficiency, redundancy and minimizing down time.
